Opposite Page: Large poster on ‘Swami Vivekananda’ for the Second Parliament of World Religions in 1993. He was the founder of the first parliament of world religions held in 1893. Swami Vivekananda was a man who referred to himself as ‘this’ so the poster is deliberately devoid of an actual photograph of him, even though it is in his honor. The image expresses the relationship between inner mind—the thousand petalled lotus—and outer world.

Opposite Page: ‘Awareness’ was a quarterly health magazine that was published by 5 hospitals belonging to Evangelical Health Systems in Chicago in the 90‘s. The magazine won several major design and marketing awards such as AIGA, NY Art Directors Club, Health Care Marketing Association and more.
The breralthrough concept was treating a hospital newsletter like it was the NY Times magazine with engaging graphics, color, bold typography, and great health articles.

Opposite Page: Olsten’s graphic system included 5 such programs, Asthma Managament, Hip & Knee..etc., the idea being a kit that patients, caregivers and sales agents could all use. I developed a graphic brand system that was both diverse in its application and unifying as a brand. The unifying features are the juxtaposition of graphic elements-- a pattern and an illustration, layout, and dimensions. The distinguishing elements are the color palettes, the illustration styles/content and the pattern in the background.
Opposite Page: A series of Disease Management Kits for Olsten Kimberly Quality Care, a home health company in New York. These kits were a creative challenge, in terms of project management, design, and production, because there were so many elements that had to be integrated.
